Good point. We have jobs, families, hobbies, and extracurricular activities. And most of our employers are commercial enterprises which operate in competitive arenas - not likely to partner with another. It seems that they'd sooner compete against, or buy-out, or be bought-out by, rather than partner with another organization.
It seems that colleges, universities, and government entities would more likely collaborate with each other if someone were to get them organized. They have fairly well-defined jurisdictions and generally not trying to grow beyond them (with a few notable exceptions).
