There's an open-source financial package from http://kuali.org that offers a Test Drive using User ID = KHUNTLEY. That was a bit helpful.

Of course, there's the ubiquitous Quickbooks. Intuit has done a good job of basic bookkeeping without the technical jargon associated with most products. I think most users appreciate that.
