Can you use CHGFTPA to set the name format to what you need it to be 90% of
the time? I've never had a problem with file zilla.

Yeah, that is cool, too. But right now I need to get at SAVFs, so I need
to be in my CURLIB. So the NAMEFMT thing really helps me at the moment.

I always seem to forget the CD thing, esp. when using the Windows
client. But I sometimes avoid it because it is so i-specific.

Vern,

I went into Site Manager and created one for one of my lpars. Instead of
your suggestion I just changed my "Default remote directory" in the
advanced tab for that site. Now when I connect I get
Status: Connected
Status: Retrieving directory listing...
Command: CWD /HOME/ROB/
Response: 250-NAMEFMT set to 1.
Response: 250 "/HOME/ROB" is current directory.
