The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Any ideas on how to Create utility program to extract the I-spec

FWiW [only re using SQL]: Since the SQL CREATE ALIAS creates an
object, it is a poor choice for processing all members [even just one
member] of a source physical file; i.e. a new object is created [and
probably since the ALIAS is not desired to remain permanently, it would
then be DROPped immediately thereafter]. Better to perform a runtime
override which redirects the open using nothing more than an entry in an
effective [always present] queue associated with the job. That is, use
OVRDBF MYALIAS TOFILE(MYLIB/MYSRCFILE) MBR(&MLNAME) prior to each SQL
request to SELECT ColumnList FROM MYALIAS, issued for each &MLNAME,
where &MLNAME could come from a DSPFD MYLIB/MYSRCFILE *MBRLIST
OUTPUT(*OUTFILE).
