Hello,
Here is the HELP on the OPTION parm of CMPPFM:
*RPGLESRCCOL
Compare only ILE RPG source columns (6-100 inclusive). This
limits the comparison scope to the source code column area.
This option is valid for line and word comparisons.
*RPGSRCCOL
Compare only RPG source columns (6-74 inclusive). This limits
the comparison scope to the source code column area. This
option is valid for line and word comparisons.
Thanx,
Nick

Re: Source Code Cpmpare Utility
I have used that with *RPGLESRCCOL, but it still includes col 1 - 5 and 81
- 92.
I think that only causes it to ignore the SRCDAT and SRCSEQ fields.
BTW - I am on V5R4.

You can use CMPPFM, but prompt it, press F9, then change the OPTION
parameter to *CBLSRCCOL. This will ignore columns 1 - 5.

Subject: Source Code Cpmpare Utility
Does anyone know of a good source code compare utility that will only
compare the actual source columns (excluding comment areas) based on the
source type?
I have a large number of programs that I need to compare for changes, but
do not want to flag lines as changed if the only difference is the comment
area.
Thanks,
