Kirk,

When I created the IMGCLG object on the target server, this process did not
work. When I restored the IMGCLG object from the source to the target
server, the image catalog was usable as a tape drive.

Thanks so much!

And, fwiw, the FTP transfer was BINary. Thanks to everyone for their
suggestions.

Trevor

I have 2 servers. Both have V5R4, and I have created an identical virtual
tape on both. The catalog entries are correct and both can be viewed with
DSPTAP.

When I copy the STMF image from one to the other, the destination is
unreadable. Has anyone does this successfully, and how?

I haven't played with tape much, but I believe these are just Image
Catalogs in a tape format. When I create an optical Image Catalog at
V5R4 an object by the same name with the objtype og *IMGCLG is created
in QUSRSYS. If I move that object and my optical catalog it is usable on
tha target machine
