I haven't played with tape much, but I believe these are just Image Catalogs in a tape format. When I create an optical Image Catalog at V5R4 an object by the same name with the objtype og *IMGCLG is created in QUSRSYS. If I move that object and my optical catalog it is usable on tha target machine
