I am excited to announce that the COMMON Leadership and Advocacy Program will conduct a 2-day Leadership Summit April 24-25, 2009 in Reno, Nevada as a pre-conference event to the
2009 Annual Meeting and Exposition. The Leadership Summit will be an invitation-only event for existing, or up-and-coming, leaders who show potential to take on more responsibility within COMMON and other user groups. It will offer two days of intensive leadership and professional development for those who are chosen to attend.

Sessions will be facilitated by Dr. Jim Chambers, founder of the Institute for Organizational Leadership. You can contact Jim directly with comments and questions about the event at jchambers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx More information on the summit at http://www.common.org/summit/.

Here is where we need your help:

As a current leader of COMMON or another user group, you are in a unique position to help us identify individuals who would best benefit from this program. This is about growing the crop of new leaders to take us into the next decade; what could be more important?

To nominate an individual for the Leadership Summit, please fill out the nomination form at http://survey.common.org/elisten/surveys/leadership/leadership.html.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, January 23.

Thank you for your interest!

Randy Dufault
COMMON President
