Hello Debbie,

If you can get the QNTC stuff to work on the iSeries, that is one
approach, but VERY buggy.

Another alternative would be to set up NFS on the Windows PC.

In both of those scenarios you can use the IFS API's to list files on
the fly from an RPG program. Scott Klement and others haveexample code
floating around.

If you're open to a commercial option that you can have working in 10
minutes, we have a product called IFS Tools that has a native Netbios
client so it can read and write files and directory lists directly to
any Windows box.

Feel free to contact me offline or contact our sales team for more info
on IFS Tools.

subject: Can I read a Windows Directory from an RPG program?

I have built a series of programs. One of them does a list of the names
from a Windows Directory to a file on the iSeries. This file contains
jpg images that we load to our website. I need to verify that the image
exists before I include it in our emails that we send to customers.

My Department Manager says this is "kluge" or just error prone. He
wants me to directly read the Windows Directory from the RPG program.

Can someone point me in the right direction, please?
