I tried removing and reinstalling option 35. No go.
I tried removing and reinstalling options 34 & 35. Still no go.

I don't see an option specifically for 5722-AC3 on the option 11 menu. I
have a disk for both 5722-AC3 and 5722-CE3, but only CE3 is on the licensed
program menu option.

Found this for a v5r2 restore to a new serial number:

Step 36: If you installed any of the following CCA Cryptographic
Service Provider on your system, reinstall the CCA Cryptographic
Service Provider using Option 11 on the Work with Licensed Programs
menu.

Cryptographic Access Provider for AS/400 - 40 bit (5769-AC1)

Cryptographic Access Provider for AS/400 - 56 bit (5769-AC2)

Cryptographic Access Provider for AS/400 - 128 bit (5769-AC3)

Doesn't the Cryptographic Access provider have to be reinstalled?
IIRC, that license program can't be simply restored.

We had to completely restore our system on V5R3 from a 21 tape save.

After the restore, the system shows that the software is installed, but
claims the secure sockets cannot be started.

Checking the Digital Certificate Manager part of the *ADMIN web server
gives
the following:
You must install one of the cryptographic access provider products on
your
system before using the Digital Certificate Manager (DCM) functions.
Contact
your system administrator.

Any advice on how to fix this quickly? This is affecting our web server
(which won't even start) and all the TCP/IP telnet connections to our
system.

I've done a temporary work-around by changing all links for critical use
to
use the unsecured sockets on an alternate webserver config.

Thanks,
