HI I was interested in hearing of some typical uses you have
with using the IFS? It is one of the areas we are exploring in
the need to modernize our legacy systems here.
You might consider using a browser to upload PC documents and binary files to the IFS, and reference them from IBM i applications.
I'll post a screen-shot of an IBM i based community forum that allows PC documents and other types of files to be uploaded and attached to discussion threads, and shared.

The general idea is that Web applications offer exceptional user interfaces while keeping your data, documents, and applications on a server, as opposed to distributing applications and data to client workstations, and having the problem of keeping them in sync.
