That created the link but I still get the same error message when I run git. I have read through the git manual for a command switch or something that would allow you to specify the terminfo database location but haven't found anything, yet.

I'll post back when I finally figure this out.

git: can't find the terminal type xterm in the terminfo database.

It looks like git is looking for the terminfo database in the /opt/freeware/ directory tree. I think it will work if you create this symlink:

ln -s /QOpenSys/usr/share/lib/terminfo /opt/freeware/share/terminfo
