no. Mgmt knows it went wrong by giving the MIS dept too much autonomy.
it is a legacy system, written by a staff of pgmrs as many as 30, for
20 years, that is 5x more complex than it has to be because everyone
had a specialty and an elevated idea of their importance. The i has
some good tools in journaling and triggers to get a handle on
unreadable legacy code. Would be very useful for the i to have more
tools for application refactoring - like tools to tell the programmer
what code actually runs in a program.


So, what would you do if e.G. a system processor failed now?
dunno. Have not seen an i crash since the S/38 days.
