Bear in mind that I am NOT a fan of Windows in the enterprise as I write this...

Microsoft, MS ISVs and IT pros specializing in MS platforms/tools/etc
look at reliability differently. If the hardware/OS/app
server/database/etc are inexpensive enough, clustering can get you the
reliability you need. I really can't argue with this, as we cluster
our WAS apps (running on IBM i) across four WAS profiles on two
physical machines.

Sure, your TCO is going way up, but once you've committed to the MS
based solution, you're going to do what you can to save your butt and
justify your choice.
