What kind of a machine are you working on? How have you been doing work
up until now? Was this an upgrade? How long has this been going on?

You really should be calling IBM for support on this issue.

Now that you have the appropriate server side stuff loaded, I'd try
ending and restarting the telnet server. Telnet may pick up the signon
screen and so on when it comes up.

Subject: Telnet Emulation Connected but Screen Blank

i got this when installed V4R4 Licensed Program ...

All the necessary Licensed Program, with no error msg about licensed
program installation in log file. However, i chk back & found that
during licensed program installation stage, the option s for Client
Access Family : 5769XW1 *BASE & *Option 1, didn't actually exist for
selection at all. So i restored both of these options, *BASE followed
by *Option 1, from installation CD to system, but for *Option 1, it says
'... *Option 1 not restored ...'.

When testing iSeries client access from a Windows pc to server :

-Connection status of telnet emulation was successful, but -the
emulation screen was blank

i tested from another Windows client pc but got the same problem. So i
restored again 5769XW1 *Option 1, this time restored ok. Retest iSeries
client access & the problem went away.

i find this quite an odd case, because when missing *Option 1, then the
emulation screen was blank. So i'm pretty much interested in finding
more about these 2 options of Client Access/iSeries Access :-

- 57xx XW1 *BASE
- 57xx XW1 *Option 1

What are the exact components inside each option, that control the
functions of connection, emulation display, etc ...

i've search thru lots of resources but couldn't get what i'm looking
for. HOpe all of u could shed some lights ... thx !
