I was privledged to be at that meeting and to shake Dr. Soltis' hand at
the end. Thank you, Dr. Soltis.

He is scheduled to speak to a p group tonight. Just wish I had an
excuse to ask to be let in.

Frank spoke to TUG in Toronto tonight and received a standing ovation
at the end of his talk.

Couple of things he mentioned:

a) He has 45 years with IBM - he could have retired on full pension 15
years ago!
b) With the convergence of the systems he would have had to talked
more and more about AIX and Linux - it doesn't interest him to do that.
c) He gets a severance package as well as his pension
and d) IBM will give him a "future career" education grant - which he
claims he'll use to persue his racing career!

Given a) or c) alone I'd have been long gone. Heck I hung on for 12
months more than I really wanted to in the hope of a package that
never came!!
