Thanks very much for providing all the reading. I don't mind RTFM.

It seems using the API could be quite involved so will try to use the ENCRYPT/DECRYPT SQL function as it seems easier and quicker. This unless you or someone leads me to believe otherwise.

What I need to do is simply create a table that contains a password or perhaps a userid and password. I want me REXX code to call whatever's necessary to decrypt the password contained in a password table (maybe the userid as well) and make it available to my code for FTP/S work in batch. I know I'll also have to create some code that allows a trusted someone to create and change the userid and encrypts the password in the table when required. So, I'm not trying to create a super sophisticated app here.
