IIRC, the answer is 57xxTC1 or it's equivalent _USED_ to include
TCP/IP itself. Back around v3 and before.

Now-a-days TCP/IP itself is part of the base OS.

Though I don't know what's left in 57xxTC1.

Try to create a new lpar from scratch. After you install LIC and you go
to install LPP you'll find out that PASE is now one of those programs they
assume you want and initially put a 1 in front of it to install. (At
least in V6R1.) They don't even do that for TCP/IP. What's really a hoot
is I think they assume you want 5761DG1 (http server). Now, how many
people you know running http without TCP/IP?

Now, there's an interesting question... I never thought about it before.

I've always "assumed" that the 'TCP/IP Communications Utilities'
were for stuff similar to what gets installed with the SQL Dev Kit
-- menus, various commands, etc. It never occurred to me that it
might be TCP/IP itself. And since I don't recall ever working on a
system that didn't have 57xxTC1, I never would've run into a
problem. (Except maybe back pre-V3...)

Does 57xxTC1 install TCP/IP itself? That would seem... odd.

But I've assumed that TCP/IP has a lot that is implemented at a
lower level, so I wouldn't expect it to be totally installed above
57xx999.
