I've often used FNDSTRPDM just for the purpose of checking if some value exists in a physical file member - a very quick way to just do an existence check.

Was that redundant?

OK, wasn't really aware of that. Not exactly the tool I would use for that purpose, but I guess it could be used (although scanning a data member for packed data with FNDSTRPDM would be darn tough <grin/>).
