We replaced the cache battery pack on the fly without a hitch. PLEASE
NOTE THAT NOT ALL CACHE BATTERY PACKS ARE REPLACEABLE ON THE FLY.
The CE said the only issue he's seen with replacing these on the fly is
that when they were first introduced, they got hot and expanded when in
service, making it hard to pull them out. IBM has dealt with that issue.
The CE also noted that there was no warning issued in the Service Action
Log, which should have occurred 85 days ago. This means the battery had
what I would call 'catastrophic' failure. That also means the system is
engineered to recognize that and keep us customers protected.
