I'd stick with HLDJOBQ and RLSJOBQ.
Jobs are not cleared from a job queue upon IPL
An ENDSBS / STRSBS does not automatically release the job queues. You
have to RLSJOBQ.
Can't remember the last release, if any, that required a subsystem to be
ended to do an ADDJOBQE or RMVJOBQE. If you go this route and you assign
it a nice number like SEQNBR(9898) and then RMVJOBQE you may run into a
problem with your next run when it tries an ADDJOBEQ SEQNBR(9898) if
someone else has added another JOBQ with that same SEQNBR. Workaround:
Stick with HLDJOBQ and RLSJOBQ.
Granted, you're a one man shop, but even you may forget that you were
using 9898 for something. And, if they let you go do you really want your
replacement letting everyone at the local user group telling you what a
dupa you were when he tried to debug the job and finds ADDJOBQE bombing
out?
