Our RPG2SQL product - an SDK for working with remote databases and Excel from RPG & COBOL - will help you do this. You can have a data queue monitoring program that uses this SDK to make changes as needed to an SQL-based RDBMS or to Excel workbooks. Live - real-time.

Check our website at or call us at 888.RJS.SOFT and ask for me, Richard, or a salesperson for more information.

"Anyone doing this now? Where an updated record on the i5, will be
updated in the spreadsheet, AND deleted i5 records will be deleted from
excel, AND added i5 records will be added to excel?"

I use:

a) Data
b) Import External Data
c) New Database Query

After you define all the parameters and pull the data directly to the
spreadsheet, you can change the properties of that query and on the
REFRESH CONTROL box, you can check the box that says REFRESH EVERY ?????
SECONDS and you can set "n" number of seconds to refresh the spreadsheet.
