This may or may not be related to your problem but, according to technical folks at Wells Fargo, the IBM i and its way of dong FTP/S or SFTP is not in keeping with the rest of the industry and is a bear to make work with their systems for encrypted file transfer of banking files. Apparently they have been successful in patching together "something" but it doesn't appear to be anything native and usually involves a third part *ix or Windoz piece of software.
Geeze. I'll know more as I try to get our i working with Wells.
