If you can edit the CLPs' sources it can easily be adjusted.

At the beginning of the PGM test the environment in which the PGM runs,
using RTVJOBA. If it runs in batch you do not have to submit it and all
PGMs run in line of execution.

Something like:

DCL &TYPE *CHAR 1

RTVJOBA JOBTYPE(&TYPE)

IF &TYPE '*EQ '1' THEN(DO)
SBMJOB
RETURN
ENDDO

A CL program is calling several other CLs, many of which have SBMJOB
commands in them. The next CL can not be run until the previous CL is
completed.

It is entirely possible that I am making too big a deal out of this. Is
there an easy way to make it run one step at a time?
