John,
I bet your system value is set to spawn off QHST files at a very small
size.

Try a larger size, like 65400.

QSYS/CHGSYSVAL SYSVAL(QHSTLOGSIZ) VALUE(65400)

QHSTLOGSIZ

Maximum history log records. Maximum number of records for each
version of the history log. When a version is full (the maximum has
been reached), a new version is created. You can save the full

(old) version and then delete it.



A change to this system value takes effect immediately. The shipped

value is 5000.

Specify the maximum number of records for each version of the

history log. The smaller the maximum number, the more often you

will create versions of the history log. The lower limit is 1.
