If you need multiple IXS cards added, then I think it's time to consider
the blade center and either NetApp or iSCSI. I know that Ed from ASCC has
set up a NetApp solution for Oakfarm Schools. A little different than our
NetApp and blade center solution. We had Sirius in on our setup.
I could have you talk to some people here who were a little more involved
as to what they liked about iSCSI and why they still moved to NetApp
instead. My boss, Chris, for starters and maybe Josh the tech guy next.
Josh, Chris and I all went to the IBM lab in Rochester to deal with iSCSI.

And, if you could move to iSCSI you could switch that lan card to the Host
Ethernet Adapter in the CEC, rip out the lan card, stick in the iSCSI card
and it would fit.

Testing the Host Ethernet Adapter could be done by adding a second IP
address, and using another port in your switch. Doing the configuration,
adding the test line description, adding the tcp interface and testing it.
Once it has your blessing then switching your old IP address and line
description to use the new hardware and bringing that up. Crud I can do
in my sleep.
