Some time ago when I was doing contract work for a different company,
this guy asked how he could get a list of item codes and their
descriptions.
I set up an icon of his PC using Client Access file transfer to download
the
data to a csv file. He then very cleverly set up a Vlookup to import the
product
description into a spreadsheet and procliamed how much time he saved in
not
having to key in the product description. Turns out he was manually
typing
a report into MS Excell and he then ran a pivot on the report.
By the way the description was on the report. Perhaps it was not his
fault as
the I.T. department were not so responsive to requests from users.
I showed him how to use I.S. Navigator to download the report to a text
file
and just type in commas to make a csv he could import into Excel.
For some reason this did not impress him.
