Spool file id's keep incrementing as long as there is still an entry sitting on an out queue somewhere. But, if there are no pending entries in any out queue, the next spool file entry id is SP0000.

I was just curious if, in the case where unprocessed spool file entries remain, the System i could ever run out of id's. And, if it could, what would happen. I know some of you guys (and gals) print high volumes of spool file entries, such as for barcode readers.

Just curious.
