Albert,

Does you spooled file actually contain Double Byte
characters?

If it does not actually contain Double Byte characters you
can ignore the message using the appropriate MONMSG .

Be aware that the spool data will be shifted to the right 1
position.

John

Subject: Unable to CPYSPLF

I am trying to copy a spool file to a flat file that I
created in QTEMP but I get the message: must be a
double-byte character set (DBCS) file.

Is there a way to get around this or to create a double-byte
character set file in QTEMP?

I have been using CPYSPLF for years but this is the first
time I have encountered this.

Thanks,

ALbert
