Perhaps a new list is needed just for this purpose ...?

MIDRANGE-LANGUAGES ?

as a place to go when you need information about or want to debate the relative merits of COBOL vs. RPG, or RPG vs. EGL, or RPG vs C++ etc.

And, perhaps another similar list might be useful ...

MIDRANGE-FRAMEWORKS ?

as a place to go to find information about the relative merits or "pros and cons" of using one application framework versus another, etc.?
