The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
Dave,
would it be possible for you to send a copy of
your REXX to this lists?? we use that and I would
be very interested in any "automated" processes.
thanks eveyone, and most of those "alternate" methods
I use as needed already, even the remote site DIR
command to verify the date & byte size of the file on the
receiving site.
I was just hopeing for some quicker, response type
method that would not require explaining to anyone
else in the shop that may use one of my ftp routines.
thanks again to everyone for your info...

Aaron,
I do what you ask in a REXX program that not only calls FTP but uses logic to look for FTP successful completion code, SQL and its codes (in your case you may not need the SQL part) and native i5/OS commands to get the number of records for the file(s) being FTPed. While you'd have to modify for your purposes, perhaps that sort of utility program could be of some help.
