possibility of incorporating a batch indentifier in the working
records as a substitute for per-batch members. His suggestion
was to "post" such working records by clearing the batch
identifier.
FWIW, I suggest instead keeping the batch identifier permanently
and using a separate field for batch status. Then, users can
answer for themselves questions of the form "Hunh? Where did
this come from?" (Well, they can get the first-level answer,
anyway.) In an environment with large batches, a finer indication
may be worthwile, too.
