The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
Forgive me if you have already done some of these steps. Maybe it will
help someone else:
1. Install the iSeries Access ODBC driver on the WorldShip 10.0 PC. If
you have a different IBM i-compatible ODBC Driver, it will probably
work, but the steps may be different. The minimum install of
iSeries/System i Navigator with ODBC driver does not count against your
user license count.
2. In the Windows ODBC utility, create an ODBC data source (system or
file) using the IBM i-compatible ODBC driver.
3. On the first tab of the data source configuration window, specify the
AS400/iSeries/System i/IBM i server the file is on.
4. On the second tab of the data source, in the SQL Default Library
field, type the name of the library the file is in. You may use the
Library List field, but if it doesn't work, I'm sure the Default Library
will. Until you do this step, WorldShip will not be able to see any of
your files on your AS400/iSeries/System i/IBM i. Save your changes and
exit the Windows ODBC data source utility.
5. Open WorldShip 10.0 and navigate to the mapping utility.
6. Select whether the map you are creating is Import or Export. Type in
the name you want to use for the map. Click create.
7. The mapping utility will have the USP WorldShip columns from one
table on one side. On the other side, the utility will display the
fields from the file with the lowest alphabetic value in the library you
specified. Using the drop down arrow by the file name at the time of the
list, select the file you want to map to/from WorldShip.
8. When the WorldShip and IBM i columns you want to connect are visible
in the list, click on both to highlight them. The new link you created
should appear in the list at the bottom of the mapping utility. You
might have to do something else like click a button or double-click the
second column--I don't remember clearly.
As advised by UPS and for security reasons, we use a special library
with one file for import and another for export. We map the various
columns from the various WorldShip tables to the fields we want. You
have probably figured out how you want to do that part already.

Roger, I appreciate that....I know where the mapping tool is, but I have
been unable to actually specify the physical file on the 400 that we are
going to use.....that is the issue I have.....

RE: iSeries ODBC Driver issue
Doug,
Our Shipping department is across the plant and it is almost quitting
time. It has been years since I used it, but there is a mapping tool
that is quite easy to use once you find the menu path. If you look at
the help contents for import and/or export, it should tell you how to
find the utility. If you still can't find it, I'll walk back there
tomorrow and give you the menu path to the tool.
HTH,
Roger Mackie
