If you are on V5R4 and upgraded HTTP PTFs to group 12 or 13 then it's
probably the JAVA 32 bit client that's messed up. IBM moved the Admin
server to the new Light Weight server somewhere in there. We discovered
the following steps fix the problem.

a) End the HTTP *ADMIN server.
b) RMVLICPGM of 5722JV1 option 8 (J2SE 5.0 32 bit)
c) Re-install 5722JV1 option 8 from media
d) Re-apply your current JAVA group with GO PTF option 8. Specify 'Other
Options' Y and use apply type 3 'Apply only Immediate' [This works
because you only need to re-apply PTFs to the J2SE 32 bit code - all the
other appropriate PTFs to OS/400 and LIC are already there.]

e) Restart HTTP *ADMIN server.

Problem solved.

We did this during production on several machines so long as everyone was
comfortable that nobody was using the J2SE 32 bit JVM. If you can't be
sure of that then you'll need to do this when you are sure.

Good Luck!

RE: Web Admin for i5 OS

Check your Java PTF group status. Do a WRKPTFGRP and see if some of the
items have a status of "Not installed". Something similar happened to me
a couple of months ago and I had to install the latest Java PTFs.

You haven't for some reason installed the new 32-bit Java supported by
DB2 Web Query?

Subject: Web Admin for i5 OS

For some unknown reason I cannot access the Web Admin for i5 OS webpage.

I've issued the STRTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP) HTTPSVR(*ADMIN) command (and
ended and restarted a few times too). I can authenticate and I get the
main web page. But when I try to get to the Web Admin page I get an
Internal Server Error message. This is occurring on my test system. I
can
do the same on my production system and all works as expected.

Any ideas of where I should start to diagnose the problem? TCP
connectivity is fine so I suspect there is a configuration issue at play

but I don't have a clue as to where to start. The last time I was in
there
a was a couple of months ago and it worked fine then.

Thanks!

Regards, Jerry
