Or what about Query/400? And WRKDBF? And RUNSQLSTM? Plus, there's always the ability to update a DB2 database from an external source, such as an Excel spreadsheet.

No, I've had auditors ask for stupid things like this before. My question back to them is, "What are you trying to accomplish?" If, for this one, they respond, "To see if anyone is surreptitiously making changes to the database," my response would be the things listed and a few others. And tell them they were attacking the concern from the wrong direction/method.

But to answer your question, I think journaling is what you're looking for.
