Steve, while I appreciate your concern for the ongoing viability of the
platform, I'd really prefer if you didn't turn Midrange-L into an
advertising vehicle for any of the migration vendors.
I could care less about vendors of any kind that post to these user to
user message boards.
I am curious if IBM can be seen as a sleeping giant that is being
spurred to action by the taunts from the competition and the actual
threat that MSFT poses to it. They have the money, IBM i is a product
that, especially with some freshening up, programmers can love. With
the new superfast hardware we are half way to where we need to be to
compete. Maybe now that the new execs are in place, good things will
continue to happen.
