As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Hello Sam,

If you're open to commercial solutions, our RPG2SQL Integrator software
can be used to run stored procedures and access SQL Server databases
from the System I via RPG or COBOL.

subject: Calling a SQL Server 2000 stored procedure from a System i
program

All -

I have the need to call a sql server stored procedure which returns a
'next-number' value that I need to use in a System I program. I'm not
sure
which language I'll be using, so I'm posting here until David redirects
me
to another list.

I'm guessing I'll need to write a Java program that uses JDBC...
