Good luck. If nothing else, Simon should be coming on-line shortly.

Your confidence is touching ...

No Internet access this weekend. Local Telco "did something" which killed access at 1:56 AM Saturday. Logged a call on Sunday. Still dead Sunday night. Supposedly Telco "did nothing" but miraculously we have access Monday morning!

Anyway, back to the problem at hand. Not sure I fully understand the original request but I think it is as follows:

Original appender has a System Save tape (SAVSYS plus SAVLIB *NONSYS plus SAV) for 450.
They have already used this tape to restore a 450 system but did not install everything.
They now want to install an LPP from this tape.

If that scenario is an accurate description then they MAY be able to restore the program product library using RSTLIB. This library will be saved on tape using the library name as the label identifier. I expect this to work because the save tape is the same one used to restore the system.

If however, they are trying to restore an LPP from a tape made on one system to different system then it won't work properly. RSTLIB will not cause the LPP exit programs to run therefore the LPP will not be properly installed. This is not to say that they couldn't get it to work. RSTLIB ought to restore all the objects. Running the LPP may create any missing objects or generate errors that can be resolved manually. Awkward to say the least.

Regards,
Simon Coulter.
