Joe's article is an excellent introduction in its clarity and
simplicity. Lots of interesting stuff starts coming up when you
start poking around.
The REXX manuals discuss using the ADDRESS statement for the
*COMMAND, *EXECSQL and *CPICOMM environments. It also touches on
other environments without useful examples. One bit that I'd love to
investigate is where a 'custom' environment is specified. The one
that's been of most interest to me has been:
address "QSHELL/QZSHQSHC" ,
" ls /home/mydir >/qsys.lib/mylib.lib/ls.usrspc"
Directly using Qshell as an 'environment' brings the question of
what 'environments' might there be already? Yes, going through
*COMMAND with STRQSH is probably better but not quite as interesting.
