First thing I have to question is "works fine". When was the last time
they did a switch and ran on the backup machine? How long do they run on
the backup machine?
We do it every other month. And run for a weekend.
One local company's backup machine was down for a few weeks and didn't
know. They don't have a chance of doing a successful switch.
Some people do a switch, and then switch right back. And at best, test
one or two programs.
Some people's machines are so equal they alternate running on the machines
by month. That's the pinnacle.

That being said, some setups are your change management system sends your
programs to both systems and Mimix only handles the data.

We have some libraries we declare static and do not Mimix - like vendor
version software. Custom programs, are handled like the data and handled
via Mimix. Most vendors publish certain things that you do not want to
Mimix between machines, like data areas and such that hold software keys
and are hardware specific.
