I suggest you pursue this question on BPCS-L since there are a ton of people there who have already gone through this process and understand how things are different depending on which version of BPCS you have. In fact the BPCS-L archives already have considerable discussion on the topic.

There are things you need to do that are specific to BPCS and SQL.
There are IBM Patches to install, that are reccommended for your situation.
There are BPCS Patches to install, that you do not get from IBM.

IBM has APARs that are BPCS specific.
The BPCS vendor (Infor SSA) has specific migration guidance.
If you are not on them for tech support, there is a financial hurdle (Mount Everest) to cross to get a key for BPCS to operate correctly on the replacement box.

Hi all

I am planning on migrating from V4R5 (on a 170) to V5R2 (on an 810) and,
after checking our ERP system during a testing on the new machine I've
noticed that some programs fail to access data using SQL. We use BPCS as
our ERP system and I have noticed a few forums that suggest we might
have to convert libraries, or files, as part of the migration.

Does anyone have a migration plan (for V4R5 to V5R2) that they have used
in the past?
Or can anyone point me in the right direction (websites, etc) where I
can get more information on the steps involved with this migration?

Many thanks,
Paul
