I went to COMMON the first time in 1990 to learn all I could quickly
about the AS400. There I attended Al's famous System Values class.
Since then I have gone to that session at least 3 more times and snuck
the handout from of the room probably several more times to always have
a current copy. Once the session was the first one in the morning after
a very good Cuds session the night before. Knowing that I needed to pay
attention to his fast paced presentation - I sat right in front of Al
with sun glasses on to ease the ache in my head. I think he understood
as Al appreciated a good Cuds session.
We now have a new machine still in the box and I have Al's 199 page
handout right on my desk. I am ready because Al taught me what I need
to know.
He will be missed.
