Like most of the world, I first encountered Al in one of his COMMON sessions and became an instant fan. Later, as I became a new speaker/volunteer/vendor, he gave me his encouragement and support. Al was always the one dependable source of honest, thoughtful advice.
As the COMMON ed team manager, I know we have a huge hole to fill. He will be looking over our shoulders as we attempt to cover those topics he was known for. Doing our very best to carry on his legacy is the best tribute I can imagine. He has set the bar very high.
