Well, it's not worse than using an RSA adapter or iLO. It's still
pretty laggy and ugly, but i've restored Windows servers using an RSA
adapter - it's defenitivly doable.

Does a thin console support KVM? I would like to think so.

Works fine. We have several customers with that setup.
