Today was GREAT!

I subscribe to M-L using my home ISP, but my home ISP has been down for 3
days. I am programming SQL embedded in RPG, without benefit of a
traditional manual (another story) & ran into a problem today at work ...
how the heck do I do this? I posted question on M-L, and got back a
solution THE SAME DAY.

I also learn a lot from viewing Q+A of other people, where my skill sets are
insufficient to make appropriate comments to the threads. M-L is midrange
continuing education on steroids.

Yes you can quote me ... Alister William Macintyre

I been working in various ERP for manufacturing since 1984 ... prior to that
worked in transportation, retail, wholesale, publishing ... started career
working on forerunners to midrange systems in mid 1960's.

To the midrange-l participants:

Some of us would like to have an article written about midrange-l to
be published in the COMMON daily newspaper (and on this forum) in
Nashville. If you are interested in participating, would you send
me 2-3 sentences on what you like best about this forum....why it is
important to you. If it's OK to quote you, please say so in your email.
Send to alucas@xxxxxxxxxxxx

Let's set Friday night 3/20/08 as a deadline. I need to find out
from COMMON HQ when it could run...will let you know.

Thanks! and....yes! I talked via email with David Gibbs about doing
this.

Manzoor....I'll call you tomorrow! This was a spur-of-the-moment idea!
<smile>
