emailed them on V6R1 support, so they may come back with a newer
version.

You're absolutely right about being in the vendor's mercy with regard

to

technology. Unfortunately, we'll probably be on another ERP system
before the vendor updates to ILE. (Not to mention the Synon tools
lacking observability.)
