I agree the rooms are expensive, but we are not at a Days Inn or Motel 24.
These cheaper places are great to crash at, but they don't have conference
facilities, and I certainly don't want to spend a week at one. I don't mind
staying at one when I am doing an upgrade and need to get a few hours sleep
(I usually stay at Hampton Inns for those).

Where is my breaking point? The problem is with any hotel I go to lately,
its $110 a night, plus 9% occupancy tax, and 6% sales tax, and 0.5% airport
recovery charge, etc. Its these extra taxes that push the room up, plus if
you have to pay 10 a night for internet. So, I would say I would prefer
that the hotels be about $170 a night for a conference, and willing to go
$200 a night.

True Pete. But where's the breaking point on the rooms? Would you still
feel the conference is worth it if the rooms were $10,000/night?
