The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

I've been digging around in the Backup and Recover section of Info
Center trying to find a concise list of what functions have to be shut
down (without doing a full restricted state) to backup which IFS folders.
Some of this can be found in the documentation for each function, but it
seems that there should be a single list in one place that says:
WAS V6 #instance# has to be shut down to backup
QIBM/UserData/WebSphere/AppServer/V6/Base/profiles/SYSINST/tranlog/LOCAL/LOCAL/#instance#
*HTTP *ADMIN has to be shut down to backup /QIBM/UserData/HTTPA/admin/
*HTTP #usersite# has to be shut down to backup the folder configured in
the #usersite# to contain the logs
*NTP has to be shut down to backup /QIBM/USERDATA/OS400/TCPIP/NTP/
*DHCP has to be shut down to backup /QIBM/UserData/OS400/DHCP/
*DNS has to be shut down to backup /QIBM/UserData/OS400/DNS/
This would help in designing a backup strategy to minimize what you
consider key function's down time by only shutting them down, backup and
restart them. It would also help figure out what caused the job log
entry for a lock on /QIBM/UserData/Eclipse/workspace/*
Have I completely missed reading the center and this lists exists?
