Yeah, the fun part is deciding which way to go :-)

For iSeries stuff that builds your skillsets for other areas, consider:

To broaden your horizons a bit with a native option you might consider:

JSP/Java - Works on all platforms.

PHP - No compiler needed. Just the PHP environment and a database. Works
on all platforms.

Gwt - Google Web Toolkit ? (I've not used this.)

To stay iSeries specific:

RPG/CGIDEV - if you want to stay RPG based for your web dev.

RPG Smart Pages - If you want a good commercial GUI tool for RPG web
stuff.

And of course there's always my favorite: .Net, but you would typically
run the web site on a Windows Server :-)

Give us feedback after you get your hands dirty.

subject: Re: I am in a Holy War about webserving from a System i

Fair question. Another guy and I want to develop some web stuff (and
eventually be good enough at it to get paid for doing it. :) ) We have
midrange backgrounds and believe that RPG alone is not where we want to
be.

I was arguing that we could help smaller companies leverage their
midrange applications & staff by getting some of their midrange reports
onto an intranet web site, on their midrange machine. His position was
that the i5 is not a solution for web serving. So, I asked here. The
response convinced him.

We've been playing around with gwt & Eclipse.
