I like bleeding edge. However, like Al, I can't see recompiling just so
that people don't know that your code has been around for years. It would
be different if some redesign were put into it. We all have some programs
that have been around for years, chugging it out.

If I went into something old to make a change would I do a couple of
things more germane to the RPG list? You betcha. But just to recompile
everything? No.

If I was a vendor and release version y, then I might consider compiling
everything to that version.

Now that I think about that last statement, maybe a grand recompile every
so often isn't so bad. Let's you know to remember how to compile some
stuff before all that talent turns over. Or before the backup tapes
holding the source are all rotated out of the save pool (and you only find
then that you are missing a source member).
